My 1986 Ford Mustang LX Convertible

updated: Nov 2nd 2006 @ 11:29 PM

Whats up everyone? My name is Derek and I am 17 years old. This is my 1986 Ford Mustang Convertible with a 232 C.I. 3.8L V-6. This was my first car and I have had it since I was 14 years old. I love it. It is all the way sanded down. It looks cool as hell all in primer instead of half of it in primer and the other half in black. I am going to paint it Burnt Orange Metallic  with 2 Black Metallic Racing Stripes whenever I sand the rest of it down and get the rest of the dents out of it. The top only has 2 tears in it thanks to 2 damn cats! The top has been on the car since the day it came out of the factory. Even with the 2 tears in the top, It still doesn't leak! My car was a little bit dirty on the outside when I took the pictures. It rained the day before and I didn't feel like washing it. It is my daily driver. The motor just now hit 132,800 miles on it without the motor being rebuilt. Still running good and strong just like it was when I first got it. On the interior, there are only 2 burn holes in the driver's seat, 1 burn hole in the passenger's seat, and 2 burn holes in the back seat from where cigarettes were dropped and thats it. My Mustang doesn't leak any transmission fluid or oil. I just replaced the radiator and the radiator hoses on April 15th,2006 since the radiator got a hole in it somehow. Also on April 22nd, 2006, I changed the spark plugs and spark plug wires. It is running a lot smoother than what it was! It is alright on gas mileage which is one reason why I haven't dropped a 302 off in it yet. I like my gas mileage very much. I am in the process of fiberglassing my dash pad, the door panels, the console, and the 1/4 panels. I may even do the kick panels. I'm not sure about doing the kick panels yet. The car club I am in is called Twisted Innovations! My friend Terry is the founder. I am the co-founder. We have more people in it with S-10's and a Nissan Hardbody! We just got it started about 2 months ago. We are having our window graphics made. I took a Plasma Cutter and cut a hole in the exhaust about 7-9 inches before the original piping curved down into the single exhaust. I replaced the stock muffler with two 24 inch Thrush Glasspacks on April 17th,2006. They were red, but I painted them black. I just got bored one day!
Anyway, It has a lot deeper to it now than what it had the stock exhaust on it. I have two 9 inch long tips in going to put on it whenever I can find the other side of the exhaust that runs after the muffler on the right side. I'm going to take pictures of my dual exhaust and under the car whenever I get it pressure washed and  have it finished and I want you to tell me if you think if I did a good job on it or not. I think I did a good job on it for my first exhaust job.
On April 21st, 2006, I shaved the 3rd brake light and that luggage rack looking thing to get it a more cleaner, smoother look. It looks straight in primer.
I have a Sony Xplod CD player with remote control with two 1 inch RoadMaster tweeters and two 6 1/2 inch Sony Xplode speakers now. That's all for tweet. Ha ha!
In the trunk, I am running a 1200 Watt Sony Xplod amp with two 12 inch Sony Xplod Subwoofers that can hold up to 1100 Watts Peak Power!
Deep bass from them!
It does kind of look mean at night! Ha Ha!

Here is a picture of my car from the back with the brand new APC Euro Tail lights!
Here is a list of things I want for my car:
A 347 Fuel Injected Motor more than likely
5 Speed Tremec Transmission
100-125 Shot Nitrous Express Nitrous System
1979-1986 Mustang Stalker 2000 Conversion Body Kit
1979-1993 Mustang Cobra R2000 Rear Spoiler
Bigger cam, but I'm not sure how much bigger
Ford 9 Inch Posi-Traction Read end with 3.73 Gear Set-Up
A Set of Chrome 17 inch Corba Rims
Maybe a 5 Lug Conversion kit ?

You can see a video of me doing a burnout in my 1986 Ford Mustang at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHZrwAKdGyg
Hope you like it!
That's all for now everybody. Whenever I get more of the body work and everything finished, I will update it and let you know how it's coming along. Anyway as of right now, it's coming along pretty good. Thanks for viewing my page.
